Lynsey Fuegner, CPDT-KA
Since 2003, Lynsey has been working with dogs at various kennels in the midwest. In 2019 she fullfilled her dream of ownership, and now offers boarding, daycare, and training at Benny’s Bed and Biscuits in Maryville, IL.
In addition to working in the pet industry, Lynsey is also experienced in working with police and military dog training. She is employed as trainer for Logan Haus Kennels Canine Trainer’s Course; working both with the development of the dogs, but also teacing trainer’s how to build behaviors, maintain them, and instructor the support teams. Lynsey also has worked with therapy and service dogs through Got Your Six Support Dogs.
A graduate of the Tom Rose School for Professional Dog Trainers, Lynsey attended both the Professional and the Master Trainer programs. In addition to her animal training certifications, she holds a Bachelors degree in Education, and is skilled at teaching owners in addition to their dogs. This ability to communicate needs and expectations sets her apart from many in the industry. She has experience with a wide variety of breeds and mixes of all ages, sizes and types and regularly fosters and rehabs dogs for placement into permanent pet and working homes. With her own personal dogs, she has been training for years in various dog sports (including Agility, AKC Obedience, Rally Obedience, Iron Dog Events, Dock Diving, Barn Hunt, and Schutzhund/IPO/IGP) and has competed at a national level.
Lynsey follows the theories of operant conditioning and, through continuing education programs, stays up to date on the most current theories and practices of positive dog training. Her credentials include holding certification as a Professional Dog Trainer through the Certification Council of Professional Dog Trainers (CPDT-KA). She is an evaluator for the American Kennel Club’s Canine Good Citizen, Tricks, Farm Dog, and Temperament Test program; an AKC FITDog Instructor; an evaluator for the United Kennel Club SPOT Program; and a Do More With Your Dog Trick Trainer, Canine Coach, and Stunt Dog Evaluator. She is involved in various dog sports and is a Judge for Barn Hunt, as well as CWAGS Rally and Obedience.
Lynsey’s background in education, coupled with her extremely diverse success working with dogs, makes her the perfect instructor for you and your family – both two and four legged.
